On December 10, 11 and 12, 2015, members of the Oromo Diaspora across the globe staged rallies in major cities to bring to the attention of the international community the unfolding human rights violations against the Oromo people in Oromia. Oromo students in particular, and the Oromo public in general, have been protesting for almost a month now against the Ethiopian Federal government’s Master Plan to grab land in Oromia and evict ethnic Oromo farmers in the name of “urban development.” According to the latest media reports, the death toll of Oromos killed by the Ethiopian Federal paramilitary-police force has risen to more than 20 over the last two weeks alone.

The following is the coverage of the Oromo Diaspora solidarity rallies in Washington-DC/U.S.A., London/UK, Toronto/Canada, The Hague-The Netherlands/EU, Melbourne/Australia, St.-Paul-Minnesota/U.S.A., Olso/Norway, Frankfurt/Germany, Geneva/Switzerland, Bergen/Norway, Saskatoon/Canada, Edmonton/Canada, Winnipeg/Canada – where the rally-goers asked the international community to intervene to stop the crime against humanity against Oromos by the Ethiopian government.
